Flowflex Lateral COVID-19 Test: Directions for Use
- Prepare the Test Kit:
- First, wash your hands thoroughly before starting.
- Next, ensure that all components of the test kit are at room temperature (15-30°C).
- Collect the Sample:
- Nasal Swab:
- To begin, gently insert the swab into one nostril about 2-3 cm (1 inch).
- Then, rotate the swab 5 times against the nasal wall.
- Afterward, remove the swab and repeat the process in the other nostril using the same swab.
- Nasal Swab:
- Prepare the Test Solution:
- Subsequently, place the swab into the extraction tube containing the buffer solution.
- Stir the swab in the solution for at least 30 seconds.
- Next, squeeze the sides of the tube to extract as much liquid as possible from the swab.
- Finally, remove the swab and properly dispose of it.
- Apply the Sample:
- Now, attach the dropper tip to the extraction tube.
- After that, apply 4 drops of the liquid onto the sample well (marked with an “S”) on the test cassette.
- Wait for the Results:
- Then, allow the test to process for 15-30 minutes.
- It is important not to read the results after 30 minutes, as they may be inaccurate.
- Read the Results:
- Negative Result: One line appears in the control region (C) and no line in the test region (T).
- Positive Result: Two lines appear—one in the control region (C) and one in the test region (T).
- Invalid Result: If no line appears in the control region (C), the test is invalid, and you should retest with a new kit.
- Dispose of the Test Kit:
- After completing the test, safely dispose of the test components in the waste bag provided.
- Finally, wash your hands again after handling the test components.
- Follow-Up:
- If the result is positive, follow local guidelines for self-isolation and seek medical advice if necessary.
- However, if the result is negative but you have symptoms, consult a healthcare provider, as a negative result does not rule out infection.
Lastly, make sure to carefully read and follow the instructions provided with your Flowflex test kit.
